INTUITION - follow that feeling

Hello readers😊. I hope you are well today.

This week I am diving straight into my topic of choice - INTUITION, as it appears that most people have experienced moments of intuitive thoughts, feelings or actions at some point in their lives.

I am often asked ‘what is the difference between intuition and instinct?’. Simply put, instinct is an automatic, innate response to environmental stimuli. For example, if you encounter a vicious dog, your instinct helps you take immediate action to avoid danger. Instincts are important for your survival, kicking in when you are faced with threats or when you need to assess your surroundings for safety.

Intuition on the other hand, is a feeling that guides your choices based on an ‘inner knowing', which does not rely on conscious reasoning or experiences.

In my opinion, intuition surpasses any other form of intelligence as it provides a direct connection to your Higher Self. I often say ‘if you feel it, your Higher Self knows it’ and I honestly cannot say it enough! There is no such thing as coincidence or chance - your Higher Self is fully aware of what lies ahead and your intuition is the key to unlocking those insights.

How often have you sensed that anticipation, where you ‘feel’ like something is about to happen, and then it does? For example, you might think of someone and then either see them or receive a call from them. Or perhaps you come across a piece of information only for it to become relevant in the future? These moments are your intuition at work - sensing things before your conscious mind does.

To understand this, it is important to grasp the concept that we are energy bodies within our own field of consciousness. In other words, imagine your body surrounded by a huge energy field, where every possibility and opportunity exists, ready for you to tap into. Since your intuition is linked to your Higher Self, the information within your field is unique to you. The experiences within your field are waiting to unfold in this lifetime, should you wish to pursue them.

I encourage you to trust your intuition and follow its lead next time you have a strong ‘feeling’ about something. People often dismiss these feelings, only to later think “I knew it” or “I should’ve trusted it”, leaving them with regrets. No point beating yourself up over missed opportunities - view them as valuable experiences instead of reasons to blame yourself.

Intuition is a beautiful and enjoyable tool to explore. Be curious and pay attention. The results can be immediate or you may be guided towards future opportunities.

Embrace the process with courage and discover where it leads you, paying attention to what your Higher Self is trying to convey. Using intuition opens up a magical world where anything is possible and for me, this perspective is one of the most exciting aspects of being human.

When you tune into your intuition and see it as a trusted ally, your energy shifts, attracting more positivity and flow into your life. Always remembering, your intuition is your direct link to your Higher Self, which has your best interests at heart. Your Higher Self knows what lies ahead and provides guidance through subtle hints. It aims to remind you of your true nature -an unstoppable, powerful energy being with no beginning or end, here on Earth for a human experience. So why not let intuition be a guiding force on your life’s journey?

Start small and take simple steps. When you feel the urge to reach out to someone you are thinking about, go ahead and contact them - you are sensing that person for a reason. If your intuition nudges you to visit a certain place, follow it - you never know who you might meet. When something out of the blue, or unusual arises, trust there is purpose behind every situation and learn to embrace these intuitive nudges as meaningful guidance.

I will briefly mention two instances where I followed my intuition - one simple and one more significant - with a positive outcome. Early in the week, as I was moving between the kitchen and laundry, an unexpected thought popped in my head to call my dentist immediately for a routine appointment I was supposed to reschedule.

My intuition suggested there was an opening in appointments due to a cancellation. Instead of ignoring the thought or delaying the call, I acted on it right away, particularly considering the wait times are usually 12 months! I told the receptionist I was taking my chances and hoping there was a cancellation for this upcoming Monday. She confirmed that someone had just cancelled for that day before I called!

A more significant example happened a couple of months ago when I was unwell and lying in bed. I felt a strong urge to turn on the computer and browse employment websites, despite having been self-employed for years. Again, trusting my intuitive nudges, I acted on it. The very first job I saw, marked as ‘just posted’, was one I had always considered if I ever returned to full-time employment. Following that intuition resulted in securing a new job, bringing new opportunities and joy into my life!

It is remarkable to realise how much your intuition can influence the course of your life, if you embrace it. Trusting your intuition is essentially trusting yourself. I truly believe there is no greater superpower in the Universe.

Stay open and allow your intuition to guide you!
