MANIFESTATION - how we begin to move towards our dreams and goals

Good morning, everyone😊.

I wonder what kind of week you have all had? Mine has been incredibly busy, full of new and exciting opportunities and wonderful connections! I am always grateful for the blessings and lessons that cross my path. I truly do believe that all my experiences are shaped by my perspective, the language I choose to use and my willingness to align with my true Self. I hope this is the same for all of you too.

Which brings me to our next topic of the week: the concept of MANIFESTATION.

You have probably encountered this term many times, especially if you are exploring spiritual teachings and tools for self improvement.  But what does manifestation actually mean and why has it captured so much interest of late?

As far as outlining the textbook definition, manifestation is described as a ‘perceptive, outward or visible expression’. I immediately catch on to the supposition that goals exist outside of ourselves. I do not agree with the dual perspective that when trying to achieve a goal you are here and your goal is way over there

It may be controversial, and certainly a little strange to some, but I believe that nothing exists outside of ourselves. Every outcome and every possible reality exists within us.

In my view, the ‘how’ aspect of the 'manifestation technique' is often misunderstood. I have reached this conclusion based on many informal chats about the topic, especially with teenagers, which is why I felt compelled to write this post.

There seems to be a common misconception that if you desire something, you just need to believe it and think about it constantly for it to come true. I have witnessed this approach lead to failed attempts, self doubt and a frustrated cycle of disillusionment.

Embodying your thoughts and beliefs is the component of the ‘manifestation formula’ that many people seem to ignore. This element of the equation demands imaginative thinking, the courage to take action, and authenticity, without allowing conditioned beliefs to hold you back. What do I mean by this?

Firstly, manifestation aligns with the Law of Attraction and the idea that we co-create our reality through our thoughts. Essentially, our life reflects exactly what we think about ourselves, whether we are consciously aware of it or not. (You will notice I often mention this point throughout my posts as I am a firm believer in the power of thought, words and intention).

Take the previous example of wanting a new job. It is difficult to manifest a job by thought and belief alone. If that were true, we would always get exactly what we wanted without any effort. However, the key to success is to think and act (embody) as if the outcome has already happened. Behaving in a way that aligns with the success of your goal will propel you into the future. (as explained in previous posts about frequency).

Secondly, it is important to understand that our bodies cannot distinguish the difference between what is real and what is imagined or perceived. When you think and believe strongly in something, your body aligns with that belief, transcending the constraints of time and space and moving into a new reality. There is plenty of evidence to demonstrate how our bodies ‘listen’ to our thoughts and feelings, let alone the words we speak. So why not tell our bodies we have already succeeded with a goal?

Thought - belief - action. The magic trio that keeps on giving!

Finally, to further accelerate your success, you really must smash those beliefs about ‘time'. We are conditioned to believe that time is linear and that some things may take a looooong time to achieve. I will always challenge that idea!

Using the example of a new job again,  try rethinking ‘I want that new job’ to believing ‘I am already in that role’, without fixating your attention on ‘when will it happen?’. Focusing on the latter diverts your energy (frequency) away from the embodiment of your new thought and belief.

It is at this point in conversation where many people will laugh this suggestion off. I often hear the common reaction that acting as if something already exists is absurd and unrealistic. However, I invite you to think about the success stories of professionals like athletes, entrepreneurs and teachers. You will hear these individuals speak about behaving as though their goals had already been achieved long before their actual success unfolded in the external world. Imagination is the key that opens this door and the old saying ‘fake it 'til you make it’ makes perfect sense to me now.

We are often told, particularly as we grow up, that using our imagination is an activity best reserved for children or those with less serious minds. I propose that imagination is where the true magic of the Universe resides. Unlock this door and you will discover a world free of the constraints of time and self-doubt. Instead, the realm of imagination holds every possibility your mind can envision. Why not use this to your advantage by combining your desires, beliefs and actions to achieve your success?

When you view life from this lens, you begin to fully embrace your power to change your circumstances, one thought at a time. Thoughts are the seeds from which actions grow. Try to harness your imagination to propel you towards your goals and it will happen more quickly than your three dimensional self might anticipate!

Fixating on time really is counter-productive as it can stretch the space-time continuum. By worrying about how long something might take to achieve, you might inadvertently signal to the Universe, "I don’t trust this will happen”.  In response, the Universe might say, "okay, I won’t assist with fulfilling your goals right now since you are focused on time - let me support your current thoughts and beliefs ”.

I believe the Universe works for us, not against us and this belief has consistently shifted my perspective when challenges arise.

When we think, believe and act like a goal has already been achieved, using our imaginations to envision it first, we align with a higher frequency. Before you know it, a new potential reality begins to unfolds. It is then up to you to sustain that frequency, avoid second guessing yourself, and create space for the right opportunities to arise. They will, as long as you remain open and attentive.

Fully understanding that thoughts have already manifested in the Universe is incredibly empowering.  Often, when people grasp these ideas, they are astonished at how quickly things come to fruition. Witnessing this realisation is truly inspiring and motivates me to continue my work.

My belief is that we live in a world shrouded in illusion, often feeling that we cannot help, heal and achieve things for ourselves without validation from the external world.  Until we are ready to lift that veil and see the true beauty of who we are, this disempowering cycle will continue.

I choose to live in a way that acknowledges my connection with the Universe, recognising that together we co-create my reality. I am my own master, teacher and student. I appreciate being reminded and guided along the way, but ultimately I am the one who makes things happen for myself.

I try my best not to get caught up in the illusion of time. Instead, I allow things to unfold naturally, with gratitude and grace. This has probably been one of the hardest, yet simplest, lessons I have learnt over the years - to flow with my imagination, listen to my intuition and embrace opportunities as they present themselves. When I take this approach, manifestation flows effortlessly.

If you are not seeing results there may be other factors - such as limiting subconscious beliefs - affecting your success, though that's a topic for another discussion.

I encourage you to begin with something small and observe the results. Use your imagination to visualise the most perfect, joyful outcome for yourself, remembering that you have everything you need to manifest your reality and create whatever you desire.
